We have thousands of applications from bands to perform at Purbeck Folk Festival every year. We think we make pretty good choices when it comes to the music but as Purbeck Folk Festival is your festival as well as ours, we thought it might be a good idea to let you do some of the deciding!
How do I enter?
All you have to do is email a link to your best live YouTube video to before 10 August with the subject ‘Purbeck Rising’. We’ll pick the best 10 acts to go through to the next round.
How it works
ROUND 1 – We look at all of the entries and narrow it down to 10 acts to go through to round 2.
ROUND 2 – 10 acts go through to a public vote. Get everyone you know to get voting between 12-18 August.
6 acts go through to the final.
The final
…live at Purbeck Folk festival. 6 acts get tickets plus a guest ticket each to come to Purbeck Folk festival for the weekend. The final takes place on Saturday afternoon (26 Aug). Judging will be a 50:50 split between the public and our expert panel.
The prizes
The winning act will get to play on a main stage at Purbeck Folk Festival next year, a spot at Folk on the Quay festival in Poole June 2014, and one day of recording in Sizzle Studio, Bournemouth.
