Purbeck Folk Festival is a weekend festival in its fifth year featuring outstanding, original young folk, roots and world music. It is set in a unique and compact farm 'arena' with professional stages erected in ingeniously converted barns. Camping in an idyllic landscape is free with weekend tickets.
This year we have music from France, Sweden, America, and lots of British talent (including the cream of the local Dorset music scene). We have BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Winners and musicians you'll never have heard of - one thing's for sure, it's all top quality music.
There's now a tradition of giving the young ones a chance - the line-up always features finalists from Radio 2's Young Folk Awards, and the best vibrant young national and internationally known artists as well as a few oldies and the best of Dorset's local music scene.
Purbeck Folk Festival is focussed on quality music and we're lucky to have a diverse audience from all different backgrounds brought together through their love of good music and everyone shares a respect for the performers which has made Purbeck the festival loved by artists and festival goers alike. The overall festival atmosphere is fantastic and this year sees Purbeck's fringe events growing with even more workshops and crafts throughout the day for adults and folk kids.
